UPANDRUNNING Rehabilitation Center - Jumeirah Golf Estates

Today’s experience was extremely disappointing and honestly upsetting. I had an appointment at 8:15 AM with a physiotherapist. It was my first time going to the center, and I got lost trying to find the place. I arrived just 6 minutes late. They called me at 8:18 and again at 8:20. I explained that I was running late because I couldn’t locate the center. Instead of any understanding, the receptionist immediately told me that another patient was booked after my slot and that the physiotherapist would not be able to give me a full session. Since my insurance covers full sessions, I asked to reschedule. I had already waited a full week to get this appointment with that specific physiotherapist, but she said the next availability would only be on Sunday because he was fully booked. When I finally reached the center, I asked to speak with the physiotherapist. It took around five minutes for him to come out. He said he didn’t have a referral and needed to assess me first, and that he had another patient at 9:00. I agreed, hoping we could still proceed. He then coldly stated that my session would end exactly at 9:00 and he would stop, regardless. At that point, I decided to cancel the session and the remaining five sessions approved by my insurance. The attitude throughout the interaction felt arrogant, rigid, and completely lacking empathy. It felt like it made no difference to them whether I continued or not. What made this even more disappointing is that this is the first time I have faced such an issue in Dubai. In all other clinics and service centers, the staff are usually welcoming, flexible, and understanding. If they are extremely strict about timing, this should be clearly mentioned when the appointment is booked, for example asking patients to arrive on time or five minutes earlier for paperwork. In Dubai, arriving a few minutes late can happen to anyone due to traffic or location issues, and waiting for appointments is also something people are used to. There is usually mutual understanding because everyone is dealing with the same environment. People go to physiotherapy because they are already in pain or discomfort. The last thing they need is more stress, cold communication, and zero empathy. Even if the therapists are technically skilled, attitude and basic human understanding matter just as much. This was a very frustrating and disheartening experience. I left feeling more stressed than when I arrived. I would not recommend this center based on how this situation was handled.

Great physio team. Bashir was amazing and helped me recover from a long standing knee injury, where I was having limited progress with other sports physios. Really recommend his services!

I’ve been having rehab treatment and Jumeirah Golf Estates with Tomas and have improved significantly since I started, Colleen is always very welcoming and helpful at reception.
