I recently underwent LASIK surgery at the Spanish Center and had a truly excellent experience. From the first consultation to the follow-up appointments, everything was handled with great professionalism and care. A special thank you to Dr. Tamer, whose kindness, empathy, and professionalism made the entire process very reassuring. He took the time to explain everything clearly and made me feel completely comfortable and confident throughout the journey. I would also like to extend my appreciation to the whole team at the center. Everyone was welcoming, attentive, and highly professional. Their support and efficiency made the experience smooth from start to finish. I’m very grateful for the care I received and would highly recommend the Spanish Center to anyone considering LASIK.

I visited the Spanish Eye Center last week after my daughter experienced sudden swelling in her eye. Since it was considered an emergency, we were given a waiting-list appointment. I was grateful that they managed to squeeze us in, and although we waited almost two hours to be seen, I completely understood and had no issue with it given the circumstances. The treatment itself was good, and we were asked to return the following week for a follow-up appointment. For the follow-up, I arrived exactly on time at 3:30 PM with my 7-year-old daughter and was asked to wait. What surprised me was that the clinic appeared very quiet, with very few patients present. After 15 minutes of waiting, I approached reception to ask about the delay. The receptionist then asked whether the nurse had completed the pre-visit check, which had not happened yet. The nurse eventually called my daughter in and began repeating the exact same eye tests performed the previous week, without even reviewing her file or understanding the reason for the visit. I had to explain that this was only a follow-up regarding the swelling and that these tests had already been done. Only then did they realize the mistake and ask us to wait upstairs for the doctor. We continued waiting for another 10 minutes. By this point, another patient who had arrived after us was also waiting upstairs. The doctor finished with his current patient, and despite waiting patiently the entire time with my increasingly frustrated young daughter, they called the other patient in before us. At that point, I had been waiting approximately 45 minutes past my scheduled appointment time. As a working mother in a highly demanding role, I had already rearranged important meetings to make sure I could attend my daughter’s appointment, and I had further commitments afterward. I informed the staff that we would be leaving without seeing the doctor. Only then was I told that the other patient was supposedly an “emergency” case and that the doctor would see us “next,” meaning after another patient still being seen. Frankly, this explanation felt dismissive and unconvincing, especially since the patient seemed fine and was chatting happily with her companion. And I knew that my daughter’s case would require 5 mins of the doctor’s time max. I found the entire experience extremely unprofessional and disrespectful of patients’ time and schedules. Mistakes can happen, but poor organization, lack of communication, and prioritizing other patients over scheduled appointments without transparency is unacceptable. Due to this experience, I will not be returning to this clinic, nor would I recommend it to others. It is unfortunate to encounter this level of disorganization and disregard for patients in a city like Dubai, where high standards of service and professionalism are expected and encouraged.

Dr Tamer is truly such a noble person. I felt at ease trusting him with my eyesight before surgery and I wasn’t wrong, the results are amazing alhamdulilah.

I recently had Femto LASIK done with Dr. Tamer, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. He was incredibly accommodating from the very first consultation. He checked my eyes multiple times pre-op and post-op and made sure every detail was perfect before moving forward. During the surgery, I was really scared, but he kept talking to me the whole time and reassuring me until I almost forgot I was even in the middle of the procedure. His calm and caring approach made all the difference. What amazed me the most is the recovery within one day I felt totally comfortable, with no dryness and no pain at all. I had almost –6.5 in both eyes and have been wearing glasses for nearly 18 years, and thanks to him, I no longer have to think about my glasses the moment I wake up. It still feels unreal. Thank you, Dr. Tamer, for the care, patience, and life-changing experience. Highly recommended to anyone considering LASIK!
