Dr. Hasan Baydoun

When trust is lost and overconfidence takes over, skill and experience are not enough. Based on my experience, even if he were the only doctor capable of performing the surgery, I would prefer to live with the pain than continue treatment with him. I would like to share my personal experience over three visits . While I do not question his medical qualifications, my overall experience was disappointing due to a lack of empathy, limited communication, and a sense of overconfidence that felt dismissive. Visit 1: The doctor informed me that my previous surgery (done at another hospital) was successful, but unfortunately did not take the time to fully listen to my ongoing symptoms and pain. Visit 2: He explained that I might need corrective surgery, describing it as complex. He recommended a diagnostic injection, which was done the same day. He also provided his email for follow-up something I appreciated. I contacted him later that night to inform him I had completed the injection and to provide feedback about worsening pain. I requested a follow-up visit on Thursday. He responded that he preferred to see me the following week. Given the pain I was experiencing, I was disappointed by the delay. Visit 3: The doctor explained the complexity and risks of the surgery and he can do the surgery when i asked him about the guarantees and the side effect he told me and clarified that no guarantees could be provided regarding the outcome of the surgery and the side effect, which I understand is common in complex medical procedures. However, this further increased my need to seek a second opinion. I requested a medical report to seek a second opinion abroad a basic patient right in the UAE especially when i have seeing some doctor in the region and informed the they cannot do it . I explained that I may return to him afterward. He responded by saying the center brings him because he is smart and can do the surgery and advised me to consult another doctor within the same center. When I visited that doctor, he gives me limited opinion and time , but he was a great dr, told me I must return to the original doctor as I am considered under his care. This overall experience left me feeling dismissed and unsupported. I fully respect medical credentials, but I believe respectful communication, patient support, and transparency are just as essential as clinical expertise.

Dr. Hassan Baydoun performed three major surgeries on me. From 2016-8, I went back to him with different injuries (both knees and ankle) and without him I'm not sure I would have been able to walk, much less compete professionally in Taekwondo - winning a gold medal in the Arab Taekwondo Championship 2020, in the UAE. After another recent injury, when Dr. Baydoun was out of the country, I had to see another doctor, who was shocked at how active I was, given the amount of injuries I had sustained. Dr. Baydoun is not only our trusted doctor but he knows the best way to help heal his patients.

Dr. Hasan operated on my right shoulder in 2018 for pectoralis major tendon rupture during to complete tear and detachment of my tendon at the gym while doing flat bench press. Although I visited him 2 months after the injury, he operated on it and now several years later my chest is perfect and stronger than before. The best Dr. I ever came across and any similar surgery I have I would travel to any country to have it operated by him. I do heavy weight lifting and performance is of key importance to me. He managed to fully restore my peak performance.
